Participant Criteria:
- Entry Fee: $25 per recipe.
- Open to individuals only.
- No team entries.
Entry Requirements:
- Participants must register in advance.
- Participants will be required to bring everything necessary to compete including:
- Tomato juice or Bloody Mary mix
- Spices and sauces
- Garnishes
- Shakers and other tools
- Please note: No outside alcohol allowed.
- All Bloody Marys must be non-alcoholic.
(Alcoholic Bloody Marys will be available for sale to the public during the event.)
Drink Preparation:
- All Bloody Marys and accompanying garnishes must be concocted on site.
- Preparation may begin at 11:00 a.m.
- Each participant will receive a space at the bar to prepare his or her drinks.
Presentation & Garnishes:
- Participants are encouraged to produce a visually appealing presentation and be creative with garnishes.
- Suggested garnishes include but are not limited to celery, olives, pickles, and bacon.
Judging:
- Bloody Marys will be judged by a judging panel.
- Each judge should receive his or her own Bloody Mary.
- Drinks will be judged based on taste, creativity, presentation, and overall appeal.
Awards:
- Awards will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Sturgis Buffalo Chip reserves the right to disqualify any team not following our rules or anything determined detrimental to the event.
